Maasai Mara Safari

3 DAYS MASAI MARA SAFARI | GUIDE EXPERIENCE - EQUITORIALSTAR

Day 1: Start of Mara Safari

On 2nd August 2022 morning (7:00AM) I picked up our clients who were super excited. The 3 days Maasai Mara Safari in Kenya to the world’s famous Masai Mara game reserve was their first African Safari. The Maasai Mara is full of wildlife and quintessential landscape that you associate with Kenya and Africa for a safari. Our clients hooped in our customized safari vehicle ready to experience the beauty of the Mara and we began the safari, driving through the stunning & scenic Great Rift Valley with a brief stopover at the escarpment which runs from Jordan all the way down to Mozambique. The clients admired the breathtaking views during the journey to Maasai Mara National Park and optional shopping at the curio shops. Thereafter; we continued with our drive to Narok Town (the largest and last commercial center before Masai Mara) for another short break for refreshments and to use the rest rooms before continuing with the journey to our Maasai Mara safaris. We arrived at our “new home” for the 2-night stay in good time for a hot scrumptious meal. After lunch clients checked into their rooms while some opted to enjoy an afternoon short siesta and others decided to familiarize with their “new home”.  We then headed out for a short introductory game drive adventure at 4:00 PM in the evening which is the best time to visit Maasai Mara. The greatest view search in East Africa Safari with our opened rooftop safari vehicle in search for animals till sunset. We drove back to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Full Day Maasai Mara Safari Experience

On this day after an early morning breakfast, we left the lodge with our packed lunch boxes for a full day Maasai Mara wildlife game viewing across the rich tree studded grassland and rolling hills established in the Maasai Mara, Kenya. After the Maasai Mara National Park formalities and after driving a few kilometers, we saw a cheetah kill an impala and a lion hunt which is a habitual view in the Mara. We carried on our way, and saw most of the other species common in Masai Mara; Giraffes, buffalo and a few kinds of antelope, Topi, but also Elands; most of the kinds found in East Africa Safaris. At lunchtime, we settled in a scenic (and safe) spot where we enjoyed lunch and we could as well hear animals howling, birds chirping and the mighty Mara River flowing across the savannah bringing life to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve- there’s nothing like a nice lunch with some magnificent views to chew on. We continued with our Maasai Mara safari to traverse through grassland to the Mara River where we waited for almost an hour and luckily enough we spotted one of the famous Seven Wonders of the World (the Wildebeest Migration). We saw millions of wildebeest thundering through their annual migration from the Serengeti to the Maasai Mara, joined by zebra and antelope. Vultures swirl menacingly above, while the Nile crocodiles – who only eat twice a year, during the Maasai Mara river crossings – remained statue-still, awaiting their unlucky prey. After watching more of the spectacle that never gets dull; we called it a triumphant day of fun Maasai Mara National Reserve tours and drove back to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: End of Maasai Mara Safari

Today being the last day of our clients on a Kenya safari, they checked out from the camp and we made our way to the park. We got there just in time for a beautiful sunrise and one last thrilling Maasai Mara safari before we head back to Nairobi. We didn’t see any cats, but we were lucky to spend some time with the beautiful African elephants, and say goodbye to many of the other species present in the Masai Mara. We exited the park and enjoyed the bumpy ride back to Nairobi full of unforgettable memories. I dropped them off at JKIA international airport and it was really sad to bid them goodbye as we really bonded very well and they had a fun filled safari that exceeded their expectations!
